Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The main objective of the course is to give insight into necessary guidance services that are presented in the schools as an preschool teacher.
Course Content Fundamental concepts, student identity services, principles of guidance, services, development process, types of psychological consultation and guidance, technics, recent developments in the field, techniques of knowing the students, cooperation between guidance-teacher, guidance tasks that teachers perform.

1The importance of school in human life, mental health at school, teacher-student relationship, humanistic teacher understanding
2Introduction of student personality services, psychological counseling and guidance, importance of guidance services in education
3The understanding of guidance, the meaning, purpose, basic principles of guidance and some developments in the understanding of guidance
4Introducing educational and personal guidance services
5Vocational choice and its importance, vocational guidance
6Individual and psychological counseling
7Information, placement, monitoring, orientation services
8Midterm
9Teachers' responsibilities, roles, functions, relationships with the environment and parents in each of the guidance service areas.
10Individual recognition techniques, test and non-test techniques commonly used in guidance services (standard tests, situational tests, self-explanatory techniques and observational techniques)
11Organization and staff in guidance (organization of guidance services at the ministry, province-district and school level)
12School guidance programs (overview; preparation; implementation; teachers' roles and duties; evaluation)
13Sample guidance applications related to some guidance needs of students
