Purpose and Content

The aim of the course • Define thinking and reasoning, • Explain critical and analytical thinking, • Express information in their own words, • Distinguish the concepts of claim argument, and evidence, • Provide evidence for a view, • Distinguish relevant information from irrelevant information, • Actively search for information against, not just for, their own position, • Objectively analyze and evaluate information to come to a conclusion, • Demarcate biases and fallacies from scientific arguments, • Critically judge the credibility of sources.
Course Content Basic terminology and the definitions; types of thinking and grouping thinking; characteristics of implicit thinking; characteristics of explicit thinking; stages, characteristics of critical and analytical thinking; factors affecting critical and analytical thinking
