Purpose and Content

The aim of the course To equip pre-service teachers with the necessary knowledge and experience to actualize their role as social leaders to integrate with the society considering the fact that teaching is one of the occupational fields bearing a considerable amount of societal responsibility. To introduce community service practices and to do work related to gaining the relevant objectives included in foreign language education programs.
Course Content The content of this course is to equip the pre-service language teachers with the basic skills regarding the importance of community service practices, determining the current issues in society, preparing projects to offer solutions to those issues, attending panels, conferences, seminars, and symposiums as a speaker, audience or organizer, volunteering to take part in the social responsibility projects, and conducting community service practices at schools.

Weekly Course Subjects

1The aim of the course is to inform about the expected work and to examine the IAU directive on community service applications
2To prepare project proposals within the scope of Community Service Application. Examination of "community service practices" courses applied in different countries and universities over the internet
3Creating project groups and researching project topics . Getting information about the institution he will visit and making preliminary preparations.
4Review of Project task allocation and responsibilities and discuss the problems they may face.
5Determination of the places to be done in the project preliminary studies. Supply of materials for the implementation of the project and distribution of tasks. Continuing project work within the scope of applications course.
6Continuing the work of implementing the project and informing project groups in their classes about their work with in-class presentations and directing them with recommendations by the project consultant ,classmates .
