Purpose and Content

The aim of the course 1- To provide students with a comprehensive understanding of ethical principles and guidelines that govern scientific research and experimentation. 2- To foster ethical awareness and decision-making skills, enabling students to identify and address ethical dilemmas and issues in the realm of science and research. 3- To promote responsible and transparent research practices, emphasizing the importance of integrity, honesty, and accountability in scientific endeavors.
Course Content This course delves into a wide array of critical topics at the intersection of science and ethical considerations. Students will explore the foundational principles of "research" and research ethics, including the protection of human and animal subjects, responsible conduct of research, and intellectual property. Additionally, the course will cover emerging ethical challenges posed by cutting-edge scientific technologies. Real-world case studies and ethical dilemmas in research will be examined, encouraging in-depth discussions and ethical analysis. Throughout the course, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the ethical dimensions that shape the scientific landscape, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to navigate complex ethical issues in their future research endeavors.
