Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The aim of this course; is to teach the effect of the exercise of the body system, an evaluation of the problems that can occur during exercise, physiological changes that occur in case of exercise under different environmental conditions.
Course Content This course covers the following topics: 'Cardiovascular system and exercise', 'Cardiovascular regulation', 'Assessment of functional capacity', 'Measurement of energy capacity', 'Aerobic and anaerobic training physiology', 'Pulmonary system', 'respiratory control', 'Musculoskeletal system and exercise', 'Thermoregulation and exercise', 'Underwater and high altitude physiology'.

Weekly Course Subjects

1Introduction and basic concepts of exercise physiology. Physiological properties of muscles.
2Muscle contraction, the response of the muscles to exercise, long-term and short-term compliance.
3Energy mechanism of the human body, energy conversion, energy use during rest and exercise, measurement of energy capacity.
4Cardiovascular system, regulation of heart rate and blood pressure during exercise, redistribution.
5Cardiovascular adaptation to endurance exercise and cardiovascular system.
6Respiratory system structure and function, breathing control exercises in acute and chronic respiratory compliance.
7Role of breathing for the control of blood acidity during exercise, measurement of lung volume and capacity, exercise changes.
8Midterm.
9Endocrine system, hormones and major changes during the exercise,
10Performance effects, and the effects of hormones used as doping.
11Aerobic and anaerobic exercise training.
12Exercise and thermoregulation.
13High-altitude physiology, acclimatization, high-altitude diseases, first aid methods.
14Underwater physiology, physiological adaptation to diving, first aid.
