Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	The aim of this course; is to enable students to understand the main orthopedic diseases and traumas and teach the underlying principles of rehabilitation.
Course Content	This course covers the following topics: 'Fractures, dislocations and orthopaedic treatment', 'Post-traumatic first aid', 'Endoprostheses', 'Bone tumours', 'Congenital anomalies of the upper and lower limbs', 'Poliomyelitis', 'Cerebral paralysis', 'Sports injuries', 'Amputations', 'Scoliosis', 'Hand injuries', 'Osteomyelitis and inflammatory arthropathies', 'Compartment syndromes' and 'Wolkman’s ischemic contracture'.

Course Content

Learning Outcomes

All graduates can assess and plan physiotherapy and rehabilitation protocols by using quantitative and qualitative principals and concepts in physiotherapy and rehabilitation field.
All graduates apply physiotherapy and rehabilitation program by using further level knowledge and skills with in the order of systematically and safely ethic rules; finish or change treatment protocols if necessary
Creates protective / improving physiotherapy programs for healthy people
Gains the ability to use current apparatus and equipment safely in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation and follows current developments in this field.
Can use computer, statistics, information and communication technologies as required by the field
All graduates have innovative behavior to protect public health; contribute to produce health politics for the changing and varying necessities on physiotherapy and rehabilitation field.
Maintains personal development and lifelong learning; contributes quality improvement, educational and promotional programs related to the field; exhibits professional behavior at the international level.
Can use at least one foreign language in order to follow current treatment approaches and academic advances
Behave fairly and equitable to their patients and counterparts within the framework of ethical principles and professional responsibility
Communicates effectively with patients and the other disciplines at every stage of the study, ensures a coordinated execution of teamwork
Can make evidence-based scientific research and can follow developments in order to contribute the development of the physiotherapy profession.

3	Fractures and fracture healing in children and adults.
4	Upper extremity traumas and surgical approaches.
5	Lower extremity traumas and surgical approaches.
6	Orthopedic approaches in sports injuries.
7	Orthopedic approach in neuromuscular diseases.
8	Orthopedic approaches in bone and joint infections.
9	Midterm
10	Orthopedic approach in benign and malignant bone tumors.
11	Development disorders and spinal deformities in the skeletal system.
12	Foot deformities.
13	Osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.
14	Developmental hip dysplasia and surgical approaches.
