Senate Decision on Carrying Out of Lessons on 2020-2021 Spring Term

   


<p><strong>​</strong><span rtenodeid="124" style="text-align: justify;"><strong>1</strong></span><span style="text-align: justify;"><strong>.</strong>The Council of Higher Education (YOK) Common Compulsory Courses will be online.</span></p><p>2.Fully Theoretical Courses without laboratory and workshop applications will start online,</p><p><strong>3.</strong>Courses that are fully theoretical but computational problem solutions in explaining and using of blackboard or visual materials are required, will be carried out both online and face to face in limited numbers.</p><p><strong>4.</strong>Courses that are entirely workshop or laboratory practice will be carried out as face to face in limited numbers taking necessary precautions. Related Department and Dean Councils will decide and inform you about the planning of which lessons will be carried out in this category.</p><p><strong>5.</strong>Students who cannot participate in reduced face to face lessons will be able to follow the lessons online.</p><p><strong>6.</strong>Number of students participating in the reduced face to face lessons will be determined considering number of registered students of lesson and measure in square meter of lecture area. According to this plan, students will be separated into two groups. For instance, the first group will come to the university and participate into lesson at the first week, the second group will come to the university and participate in the lesson at the second week. Groups can alternately participate in reduced face to face lessons in the university once every two weeks. Accordingly, each student can follow a separated lesson 7 weeks online and 7 weeks as face to face in limited numbers. With this method, number of students in the campus and lessons will be reduced optimally.</p><p><strong>Clinical Educations, Internships and Work Placements;</strong><br/> <strong>7.</strong>Clinical education in health field, other internships and work placements within the university or workplaces will be carried out with permissions received from workplaces. Internships and work placements without permissions will be delayed to the dates of summer school.</p><p>&#160;<br/> <strong>Art and Design Disciplines;</strong><br/> <strong>8.</strong>Drawing and painting lessons that a workshop environment is required, project-rectification based architecture and industrial design lessons, lessons that require computer-aided design laboratories and use of special devices will be carried out as alternately face to face.</p><p><strong>9.</strong>Lessons that group work is required such as architecture and acting can be carried out by composing reduced number of student groups in places in the campus such as stage and studio depending on covid-19 conditions.</p><p><strong>10.</strong>Students who can document their excuses for not coming to the university although they have to take the lessons subject to the education method in the 8th and 9th article, can follow these lessons online.<br/> <br/><strong>Other Issues</strong></p><p><strong>11.</strong><strong>In accordance with the article 14 of &quot;Istanbul Aydın University Associate and Bachelor&#39;s Degree Education and Training Exam Regulation&quot; attendance to the lessons is compulsory. Exam averages are stated as (Student term grade is calculated by taking 60% of weighted average of grades taken from at least one midterm, one homework or project and similar studies, and 40% of final exam) in the article 21 of Istanbul University Associate and Bachelor&#39;s Degree Education and Training Exam Regulation.</strong> <strong>It was decided unanimously to submit to the Rectorate Authority</strong> <strong>that except university common courses</strong>, and not limited to the 2020-2021 academic year spring term, end of term final exam effect percentage will be 35%, at least 70% participation to lessons percentage effect will be 5%, students who cannot participate synchronously at least 70% of the lessons but watch lessons asynchronously at least 70% &#160;will be deemed to fulfil the attendance requirement, 5% of attendance will not be given to students who fulfil the 70% attendance requirement by attending asynchronized lessons, students who do not participate synchronized and asynchronized lessons at least 70% will be deemed to not fulfil the attendance requirement, students who fulfilled the attendance requirement before will be evaluated as attended online synchronized lesson.</p><p>&#160;</p><p><strong>12.</strong>Lessons will be carried out between 09:00-22:00 and including Saturdays.</p><p><strong>13.</strong>Re-registrations and course registrations will be completely on digital environment.<br/> <strong>14.</strong>All the campuses particularly the Florya Halit Aydın Campus will be opened for use of students on condition that following the pandemic precaution rules (social distance, mask, hygiene and other precautions) carefully throughout the 2020-2021 academic year, but it will be planned with the possible maximum number of students.<br/> <strong>15.</strong>Pandemic precautions will be applied in the library and will continue to serve seven days between 10.00-20.00 on condition that students follow these precautions completely.</p><p><strong>16.</strong>Exams</p><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><ul style="list-style-type: circle;"><ul style="list-style-type: square;"><ol style="list-style-type: decimal;"><li>It will be decided how the midterm, final and resit exams will be carried out according to situation of the pandemic period.</li><li>Lecturer who carries out the lesson will determine how other exams will be performed.</li></ol></ul></ul></ul><p><strong>Note:&#160;Updating on the articles above can be made </strong>according to situation of the pandemic period.</p><p>&#160;</p><p><br/></p>
