Purpose and Content

The aim of the course Information will be given about the political, social and economic history of the Seljuk State, which emerged in the XI. century and spread over a wide geography.
Course Content The political situation in the Middle and Near East before the establishment of the Seljuk State. Oghuz Yabgu State and Oghuzes, Origin of Seljuks. Seljuks becoming Muslim. Participation in political struggles in the Islamic world. Dandanakan War and the establishment of the state. Tugrul Bey and the spread of the state. Seljuk Caliphate relations Arrangement Sultan Alp Arslan and his reign. Seljuk-Byzantine struggles, Malazgirt and the conquest of Anatolia. Sultan Melikşah Period. Development period of the state. Political, administrative and cultural development of the Seljuk country. Nizamiye Madrasas. Sultan Berkyaruk Period. Fetret period throne fights Muhammad Tapar and the country Sultan Sencer period political developments. The reasons for the collapse of the Great Seljuk State. Iraqi Seljuks, Syrian and Palestinian Seljuks, Kirman Seljuks Seljuk culture and civilization.
