Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	The aim of this course is to examine the Turkic texts which were written in Arabic alphabet by introducing the Arabic letters that were used the longest in Turkish.
Course Content	Relation between language and writings, alphabets that are used by Turks, Arabic letters and old alphabet, general principles of Turkish words' writing are examined.

Learning Outcomes

Gains knowledge of the nature and basic concepts of the science of history
Defend the importance of scientific knowledge.
Have the basic knowledge on the examples of World and Turkish History from prototypes to contemporary ones.
Define the contemporary research methods of the field.
Follows the bibliography of the studies on the science of history according to the countries and schools in written, printed and virtual environments.
Use the resources related to the History literature.
Offer solutions to the matters related to literature relying on researches and proposals.
Apply academic and professional skills to the associated works cooperated with other fields of human sciences.
Apply the contemporary research methods to History literature.
Perform a work on literature independently.
Take responsibilities both individually and as a part of a team in a research, a project or a practice related to literature
Plan and organise cultural and social activities on literature.
Use academic methods and sense of arts to review and analyze texts and oral works effectively.
Evaluate the acquired knowledge and skills on Literature critically.
Plan and manage the process of learning.
Follow the developments in the field of using a foreign language.

Weekly Course Subjects

1	A short overview of writing, History of the Ottoman language text, writings, Arabic alphabet and introduction to literacy work.
2	The inscription of letters.
3	Letter groups: vowels, Med letters etc.
4	Vowel words in Turkish Language.
5	Harf-i tarif, kameri ve şemsi letters, the unread letters eventhough written.
6	Numbers, figures.
7	An overview of the calendar system, date conversion, day and month names, and its short forms.
8	Appendix in Turkish.
9	Appendix with verb.
10	Turkish affixes.
11	Adjectives and pronouns in Turkish.
12	Adverbs and prepositions in Turkish.
13	Introduction to basic Arabic (Writing "sahih" and "illet" letters, "Elif" and "hemze")
14	Introduction to basic Persian (sentence structures), general repetition and reading text.
