Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The aim of this course is to give basic information about child development and preschool education.
Course Content Importance of child development and education. Basic characteristics of children between 0-18 ages. Basic principles of child development and education. Historical development of child development and education. Factors affecting development. Basic concepts and theories of physical, psychomotor, cognitive and language development. Physical, mental and social development between 0-18 ages. Basic characteristics and responsibilities of teachers and other staff in preschool institutions. Preschool institutions and legal basis. Family-school cooperation. Different models of preschool institutions.
