Purpose and Content

The aim of the course gain knowledge about the basic concepts of nutrition and nutrients, make students distinguish the nutritional needs in pregancy and lactation period, make students distiguish nutritional needs at infancy, preschool period and puberty, gain the ability to plan menus appropriate for preschool children
Course Content structure and function of human body, concepts of nutrition, nutrition-related definitons, pregnant and lactating womens nutritional needs, nutritional needs of infants, nutritional needs of preschool children, gaining the children healthy eating habits, nutritional problems, principles of food preparation, cooking and food storage, planning menus for preschool aged children
