Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The aim is to enable the student to grasp the chronological changes of spatial composition, building systems, and urbanization concepts in an integrated manner, along with the fundamental methods and terminologies of architectural history and theory within the discipline of architecture, by conveying them within the scope of this course, considering the comprehensive and cause-and-effect relationships.
Course Content By establishing connections with the politics, economy, and cultural history of the period under focus in the lessons, the reasons and methods behind the spatial tradition are described, and mainstream trends are identified. Typical and unique structures of each period are examined together, aiming to create awareness in students regarding the scope of historical generalizations. In this course, we go back from the last decade of the previous millennium to periods as far back as Ancient Egypt.
