Purpose and Content

The aim of the course Examination and practical examination of color, light, shadow, perspective, space, three-dimensional modeling, movement and animation in architecture.
Course Content Examination of the three-dimensional model created with the help of a sample architectural project with software in the context of color, light, shadow, perspective, space, three-dimensional modeling, motion and animation.

Weekly Course Subjects

1Color theories. Usage areas and differences between them.
2The use of color in architectural spaces and the effects of color on human psychology.
3Perspective, perspective types, differences between them. Parallel projection presentation techniques.
4Light and shadow relationship. Artificial and natural lighting. Differences between artificial and natural lighting. The effects of lighting on the perception of space.
5Three dimensional modeling programs. Introduction of three-dimensional modeling techniques and discussion of the differences between them.
6Introduction and comparison of modeling techniques suitable for an architectural application. Comparison of building information modeling system and three dimensional modeling. Examination of the use of the model obtained with the building information modeling system for three-dimensional visualization.
7Introduction of material and shader types. Explanation of the differences between shader types. Discussing the selection of appropriate shaders for various architectural materials.
8MIDTERM EXAM
9Explaining the issues to be considered in the selection of textures to be used in architectural design environment with examples. Practical demonstration of texture mapping on architectural model.
10Introduction of rendering and rendering algorithms. Differences between overlay algorithms. Variables of overlay algorithms and the effect of variables on overlay speed with practical examples.
11Explaining the issues to be considered during the preparation of the architectural model for the rendering process with practical examples. Coating (rendering) of the model
12Explaining the concept of storyboard. Examining the positive contribution of storyboarding to architectural visualization and animation process. Examining the concepts of approach route, entrance and main space for architectural animation. Expressing as a film strip.
13Explaining the types of animation and the differences between them. Introducing road and camera animation, which are suitable animation types for architecture.
14Explanation of space, space types and the elements that make up the space. Introducing the concept of virtual space and discussing its place in the future of architecture.
