Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The aim of this course is to teach historical development of Turkish language, its place among the languages of the world, to introduce the characteristics of phonetics, structure and sentence.
Course Content Turkishs historical development and range; Ural-Altaic language family. Phonetics in Turkic Turkish (Turkish spoken in Turkey); voice (vowel&consonant), features of vowels and consonants, vocal harmonies (vowel harmony, consonant harmony), voice changes (closing, rounding, assimilation, divergence, derivation, omission, contraction, syneresis), syllabus.
