Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The objective of the course is to provide information to the students about conceptual content of the school social work, historical development of shool social work, the roles and responsibilities of the social workers at schools and information about the relevant legal framework on children and their families
Course Content Historical Development of Schooling School Social Work in Turkey The roles of social workers in schools Organisational structures in the schools Common risky behaviours at schools Common types of bullying at schools, characteristics of victims and case studies A case study: Evaluation of social problems at schools and the roles of social workers in solving these social problems Evaluation of introvert behaviour through case studies Evaluation of extrovert behaviour through case studies The roles of social workers in the reduction of harm caused by introvert and extrovert behaviour Movie screening on the student problems in schools (Half Nelson) Evaluation of the movie "Half Nelson" from a social work perspective Social work intervention in problem solving at schools.
