Purpose and Content

The aim of the course This course primarily aims to introduce the concept of civil society and volunteerism, democratic life and the significance of civil society in terms of social development, the functions of civil society in social work, the role of social worker in the establishment, maintenance and change of civil society organizations
Course Content This course covers issues such as the concept of civil society and society, the relationship between the society and state, civil society organization both in the world and Turkey, the role of civil society in protecting vulnerable groups, mobilization, and a detailed discussion of civil society in the Turkish experience.
