Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The aim of this course is to provide the students with the knowledge of historical, social and literary background of the sixteenth and seventeenth century England. and to enable them to analyse the literary works from this period with an academic and professional perspective.
Course Content Alongside the historical and political information about the English society of the Renaissance period, the course contents cover examples of major cannonical works of the age, including those of Shakespeare, Marlowe and Sidney.
