Purpose and Content

The aim of the course To introduce the social anthropology field and to be able to gain a general viewpoint about historical development of history of anthropology. To know the importance of protecting of our own culture. To respect other cultures. To give information about the cultural comparison. To gain awareness of about natural, historical and cultural environment.
Course Content Progress of anthropology and relations with another social sciences; theory of culture and concept of culture; biological and cultural revolution of humankind; “rice” and idea of racism; relations of production-consumption, energy and environmental; cultural systems: hunter-gathered societies, agrarian societies and societies of industry; gender and culture; religions systems and culture; differentiation classification and grouping; family, marriage and relationship systems; culture, personality and education

2Different theories, evolution theory, racial explanation, difusionism, cultural explanation
3Concept of culture, cultural change, cultural encounters
4Cultural process, Socialization and culture, Identity and culture
5Hunter-Gatherer groups, immigrant-stock farming groups, discovery of agriculture, from villages to cities, city civilization, industrialization
6Equalitarian and Hierachical communities, from partnership to possession, rich and poor hierarchy, management phenomenon, age and gender
7Gender hierarchy, kindredship, family, patriarchy, different family relations.
8Belief systems, shamanism, religion and occultism, ancient Turks

11Ancient societies and environment; examples from Indians to Turks
