Purpose and Content

The aim of the course This course aims to facilitate career development. At lesson; developing career awareness, matching feature characteristics with talent options, determining performance enhancement, job search and application skills are the gains of the course.
Course Content This course; It is a personal development course aimed at facilitating students' career development and planning. In the course content; education and examination system information for students to develop career awareness; introduction of concepts such as interest, competence and professional values ​​to help them match their characteristics with professional options; promotion of offices such as research, student exchange at the university; implementation of activities related to fostering the future focus process; implementation of activities in decision making, setting performance goals and developing rational career beliefs; preparing a curriculum vitae, preparing a letter of intent, the importance of applying with a reference, interviewing academics and graduates about job opportunities after graduate education or after graduation; and there are topics such as irrational beliefs, romantic relationships and dating violence, giving information about mobbing.

Weekly Course Subjects

1-Meet; determination of group rules; gaining knowledge about the differences between job, profession and career concepts; concrete determination of the goals to be achieved at the end of the program; getting information from students about the portfolio they will create during the program. -Warm-up activities
2Education and examination system information: - Regulation on undergraduate education. -KPSS knowledge and how to make a choice. - Information on what has been done during the appointment process. -Information about ALES and postgraduate exams. -O * Net website promotion - Promotion of the European Youth Portal web page (https://europa.eu)
3-Promoting the process of focusing on the future. Time Machine activity and gaining positive feelings about the future. - Noticing role models / idols - People I Take Example activity
4- Sharing the information obtained from faculty members, graduates or students about post-graduation exams. (It can be continued in the following weeks.) -Get knowledge about the concepts of ability, interest, value, transferable skill and personality type. Don't think about your past achievements. -Students gain awareness about which personality traits they find themselves close to, in which professional environments and with which personality traits they want to work with.
5- Making explanations about the scores obtained from the "Personal Globe Inventory-Short Form-Turkish" applied by the students.
6-Students learn about how to prepare a good resume and understand the importance of preparing a resume for being hired. -How to prepare a letter of intent. -The importance of applying with reference.
7- Sharing the prepared CV samples. (It can be continued in the following weeks.) -Applying for a job and interviewing -Giving information about the Adolescent Decision Making Scale (EKVÖ) to help students recognize their decision-making skills.
