Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	This course aims to introduce determinants of disability, state of the handicapped in the society and learning the methods of interventions.
Course Content	This course includes definition of disabeld, impact of disablitiy on the individual, problems of disabeld people and social work practies on these group.

Learning Outcomes

Having basic and current theoretical and practical knowledge
Evaluating the acquired knowledge in social work with a critical view, and has competency in analyzing and synthesizing.
Linking the knowledge of social sciences such as psychology, sociology, philosophy, anthropology and law to social problems and concerns, comprehends basic concepts and methods of each and has competency in applying this knowledge in social work fields
Internalizing life-long learning strategy. Renews knowledge and experience by being open to development, and enriches this knowledge through sharing it with others
Coming the idea of rights based perspective to practice in protection, health, security and rehabilitation of different groups in society
Having knowledge of social problems and social service application areas
