Purpose and Content

The aim of the course To explain the molecular mechanisms of the interactions of foods with genes, to teach the current methods used in the field of molecular nutrition, to explain the importance of diet in the development of public health problems at molecular level.
Course Content Biological effect mechanisms of foods at molecular level. Current methods in molecular nutrition. Genomix, transcriptomix, proteomics and metabolimix technologies. Functions of lipids and their interactions with other nutrients. Lipids and diseases; obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Control of body weight at the molecular level. Functions of carbohydrates and their interactions with other nutrients. Carbohydrates and diseases (obesity, diabetes)
