Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	To apply statistical analyzes with SPSS. To teach statistical analysis techniques and to provide correct interpretation of solutions. To provide gains that can perform statistical analyzes in accordance with the research questions.
Course Content	Within the scope of the course, data entry, data editing, descriptive statistics, correlation, regression and difference tests will be covered using the SPSS program.

Learning Outcomes

Know historical development and also basics of theoretical approaches of psychology; have knowledge about such theoretical information and different approaches.
Learn and evaluate theories and perspectives of psychology (e.g. behavioral, biological, cognitive, evolutionary, humanistic, psychodynamic, socio-cultural).
Have information about subfields of psychology and contribute in development.
Describes the information obtained from the science of psychology to the social and social field; explains the analytical methods suitable for the situation and problems.
Have skills about forming a scientific research design, collecting data, interpreting and analyzing results by using related statistical techniques.
Evaluate the relations between psychology and other social sciences (e.g., history, sociology, politics, literature etc.) with an interdisciplinary approach.
Have skills related scientific and critical thinking.
Meet the fields of application according to their own interests and develop skills in related areas.
Recognizes the modern measurement and evaluation tools necessary for psychological assessment; acquire basic interview skills.
Take the resposibility in cases of social and individual problems.
Produce scientific solutions in complicated problems by taking individual responsibility.
Contribute to the development of new ideas professionally and individually.
Follow current scientific developments in psychology.
Comprehend the social and universal effects of solutions produced in the field of psychology.

2	Basic statistical concepts, SPSS data entry, classifying data, sorting, scale determination
3	Descriptive statistics (frequency, percentile, average, mode, median, variance, standard deviation, range, maximum-minimum, skewness, kurtosis), missing data editing.
4	Editing data (recode, compute, split file, select case)
5	Normality assumptions
6	Pearson simple linear correlation analysis
7	Simple linear regression analysis
