Purpose and Content

The aim of the course To get students comprehend the main concepts about science and science education, social dimension of it, the importance of scientific literacy, the objectives and teachning approach of teaching science and technology.
Course Content The main concepts about science and science education, characters of science, technology, scientific knowledge and scientific methods, scientific literacy, the relation of science-technology-society and enviroment, attitudes towards sience and the aim of science education, historical development of science teaching in Turkey and in the world, constructivism and science teaching, cognitive development and science education, characteristics of primary education science curriculum and the relation between the other lessons, design and apply science activities to make students improve scientific thinking in the light of contemporary learning approaches.
