About:
TÜBİTAK SOBAG No 120K533 “Social Work Provision in Istanbul During the Pandemic Period” project is an interdisciplinary project. The first aim of the project is the public institutions providing social services in Istanbul during the covid-19 pandemic; To evaluate the activities of Social Work Centers and Social Work Units of Municipalities, the decision-making, planning and implementation processes carried out during the crisis, and to develop a proactive business plan in the context of social work management for future pandemics and other crises in this direction. The project is a unique project in terms of protecting public health, taking protective and preventive measures and planning the social work provided during the crisis. Project purpose; It is important that social work organizations and their employees are perceived as a part of the national advocacy movement, and social services have the ability to manage and are responsible for the processes before, during and after the crisis for unexpected crises. A total of 80 people working as social workers, professionals in social work area and administrators in Social Work Centers and Social Work Units of Municipalities were interviewed. The results of the research were shared, discussed and the developed proactive business plan was presented at a workshop held at Istanbul Aydın University in December 2020.

Methods:
This project was carried out with in-depth interview technique in the context of qualitative method. Interviews were held with social workers, proffessionals in social workers area and administrators in Social Work Centers and Social Work Units of Municipalities in August, September and October 2020, and a total of 80 people were interviewed. The interviews were first deciphered and then coded and categorized. The strategic business plan to be prepared based on the results of the research will play an infrastructure role that public institutions providing social work can base on during the crisis.
