Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The course deals with communication theories in relation to general social theory. In this direction, while the basic concepts and arguments of the theories are evaluated, the historical, cultural and intellectual context in which these theories are produced is tried to be clarified.
Course Content In the communication theories course, the classification of communication theories, the theories of the period of return to strong influences, audience-centered research, technology-centered research, linguistic-indicative studies and critical approaches and their place in communication research are introduced.

7Linguistic - semiotic approaches: classification, definition of linguistics and semiotics, the subject of study and the main thinkers: Plato, Aristotle, F. Bacon and John Locke

9Structuralist linguistics and semiotics: Ferdinand de Saussure, Charles Sanders Peirce and Moscow School
