Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	Showing the difference between news texts and other types of texts. Examining how and in what processes news are created.
Course Content	The scope of the course is comprised by main titles such as radio and TV news features, radio-television journalism editing, preparation of news bulletins, video and audio use in radio and television news.

Learning Outcomes

Knows the pre-production, production and post-production stages of television productions.
Knows the national, international, social and intercultural dimensions of communication science.
Recognize the basic concepts of journalism, news production processes (news gathering, writing and distribution) and developments in new media.
Journalism and television has information about the historical development of the world and Turkey.
Knows the types of television programs.
Knows how to produce content for different broadcast media.
Knows the basic elements of visual and auditory language and narrative, writing television program text, shooting script, presentation and interview techniques.
Defines the studio and non-studio single and multi camera production process.
Knows the basic working principles of audiovisual production tools such as cameras, microphones, sound, light and editing.
Explain the web-based publishing process and the developments in production and sharing technologies.
Explain the ethical principles of television journalism and programming, its legislation, quality and occupational health and safety standards and the legal consequences of professional activities.
Programs and applies the pre-production, production and post-production stages of television productions.
Associates self-regulation and editorial control skills with media contents.
Has the ability to communicate effectively with news sources.
Reveals, interprets and produces solutions to problems in television journalism and programming.
Plans the television content production process, documents and reports the production process.
Makes sound and image editing by using graphic elements in the production of television specific content.
Has the ability to work in at least one unit in the studio and non-studio single and multi-camera production process.
Uses the necessary technologies in the production of television productions.
Uses information technologies, new media and broadcasting technologies effectively.
Has the ability to present news.
It takes active part in the production and production of television news and programs individually or within a group.

6	How to prepare breaking news? How to write the news text? Features of a news speaker.
7	What is action news? How to write action news?
8	What is statement news? How to write statement news? Statement news including example events.
9	Midterm- Preparing a News Bulletin, Preparing news summaries. Subjects for preparing national and international news.
10	Main features of radio news, differences of radio news from other news types.
11	ews sources and news gathering techniques in Radio Journalism.
12	Radio News preparation techniques, 12 rules of radio news.
13	Editing radio news, radio news center ,news presentation preparation.
14	Application activities. Preparing national and international news bulletins.
