The aim of the course |
The aim of this course is to enable classroom teacher candidates to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to be able to apply the aims and basic concepts of science teaching, the relationship of science and technology with society and the environment, science and technology teaching program and approaches. |
Course Content |
Basic concepts of science and science education; science, technology, characteristics of scientific knowledge and scientific method, science and technology literacy, science-technology-society-environment relations, attitudes towards science, science education purposes, the historical development of Turkey and the world in science education, constructivist approach and science learning, cognitive development and science education, characteristics of the primary school science program and its relationship with other lessons, developing scientific process skills and sample applications.
