Purpose and Content

The aim of the course To know what linguistics is in general with all its fields. To explain how to analyze the knowledge of a language according to the data of linguistics. To have a more detailed knowledge of language by applying the data of linguistics to Arabic. To teach the basic concepts in linguistic analysis, the nature, structure and use of language, to recognize the basic concepts in the fields of phonology, morphology, and syntax.
Course Content Basic concepts of linguistic analysis; awareness raising, mis-analysis of language students' data, with the help of case study and comparative mother tongue and foreign language analyzes, concepts related to the nature, structure and use of language; components of language as a system; linguistic competence and acting, sub-branches of linguistics, types of grammar, linguistic universals, linguistic creativity, linguistic causality, sign languages, artificial languages ​​and communication between living things; research on brain and language, lateralization and fifty, evolution of language, human language functioning models, language use and language disorders (eg simultaneous listening test, split brain, WADA test); phonetics, acoustic, affective and pronunciation phonetics, speech organs, phonemes, vowels and consonants, international phonetic alphabet, double vowel, triple vowel, way and place of pronunciation; phonology, phonemes, affinity, dissimilarity, context, consonant clusters, consonants, overparts, stress and melody; semantics, semantic components analysis, semantic relations, semantic correlation, meaning and reference, collocation.
