Istanbul Aydin University was founded in 2007 by the Anadolu Education and Culture Foundation. The Faculty of Fine Arts started its educational activities in the 2008-2009 academic year by admitting students through a special talent examination. Since its establishment, the Faculty has regularly updated its academic structure and programme content in line with current needs, and after different unit names and organizational structures, it has continued its education under seven main programmes.

In line with the Education Information System introduced in 2012 and the Bologna Process, course plans and programme learning outcomes were reviewed, and curriculum studies were updated on a regular basis together with newly established departments. In this process, alignment with the Turkish Qualifications Framework and ECTS was strengthened, and a transparent and traceable educational structure was supported.
