Purpose and Scope

ARTICLE 1‒(1) This directive covers the basic principles, duties, procedures, and guidelines regarding Istanbul Aydın University Special Talent Exams.

Basis
ARTICLE 2‒(1) This Directive has been prepared based on the Higher Education Law No. 2547 and the regulation regarding the Special Talent Exam and Selection Method included in the Student Selection and Placement System (ÖSYS) Guide.

Definitions
ARTICLE 3‒(1) The terms used in this directive refer to:
a) Boards: The boards of the relevant units that admit students through the Special Talent Exam.

Units: Faculties and colleges that admit students through the Special Talent Exam.
Examination Coordination Board: A board consisting of three members appointed by the Rector.
Special Talent Exam: Exams administered to candidates applying to programs requiring special talent.
Rector: The Rector of Istanbul Aydın University.
Senate: The Senate of Istanbul Aydın University.
Exam Guide: The exams prepared by the units that admit students through the Special Talent Exam and approved by the relevant boards of the faculties and colleges and the university senate. Guide,
Examination Committee: The committee assigned to evaluate and determine the scores of Special Talent Exams, such as drawing, performance, and interviews, as determined by the administrative boards of faculties and colleges that admit students through the Special Talent Exam;
University: Istanbul Aydın University.
General Principles

ARTICLE 4–(1) The student quotas and application requirements for units admitting students through the Special Talent Exam are determined and announced by the decision of the Faculty/College Board to which the relevant unit is affiliated and with the approval of the University Senate. The quota for foreign candidates for relevant programs/departments may be announced separately. Separate dates may also be set for the exams of foreign candidates and candidates with disabilities.

(2) The requirements and documents required for applying for the Special Talent Exam are specified in the Exam Guide approved by the Faculty/College Board of the relevant unit and the University Senate.
(3) Those who meet the requirements of the Exam Guide mentioned in Article 4/2 of this Directive may be eligible to apply for the Special Talent Exam. Students may pre-register for the exam.
(4) Students enrolled in departments/programs that accept students through special talent exams cannot apply for the special talent exam for the department/program they are enrolled in. They may apply for the special talent exam for a department/program different from the one they are enrolled in.
Special Talent Exam Guide

ARTICLE 5- (1) The Exam Guide is prepared by the units that accept students through Special Talent Exams.
(2) The prepared Special Talent Exam Guide enters into force with the approval of the Faculty/School Boards and the University Senate.
(3) The exam guide includes the procedures and principles for conducting the exams, as well as explanations regarding success calculation. Additionally, the exam guide specifies the number of stages of the special talent exams for the relevant departments, as well as the scope and areas of the exam.
(4) The Special Talent Exam Guide is republished in April of each year.
Duties of the Special Talent Exam Coordination Board and the Exam
Commission
Examination Coordination Board

ARTICLE 6- (1) Special Talent Exam The Coordination Board consists of three members appointed by the Rector.
(2) It is responsible for ensuring coordination during the commencement and completion of special talent exams administered by different units and for monitoring the examination processes.
(3) The coordination board has the authority to make decisions regarding matters not covered in the Special Talent Exam Guide.
Special Talent Exam Committee

ARTICLE 7– (1) The Special Talent Exam Committee consists of at least three faculty members, determined by the Faculty/School Board upon the recommendation of the Dean/Director of the department/program to which students are admitted through the Special Talent Exam.
(2) The Special Talent Exam is administered by the Special Talent Exam Committee. More than one Special Talent Exam Committee may be established by decision of the relevant Board of Directors, taking into account the number of members or committees, the examination areas, and the needs of the committee.
(3) All documents, tools, equipment, and models related to the exams are prepared by the examination committee.
4) The determination of the halls and studios where candidates will take the Special Talent Exam The Special Talent Exam Commission shall conduct and organize the examinations.
(5) The Special Talent Exam Commission shall submit a proposal to the relevant Dean's Office/Directorate for the number, selection, and assignment of Special Talent Exam invigilators.
(6) The Special Talent Exam Commission is responsible for the safe conduct of examinations in accordance with the procedures and principles specified in the directives and guides, and for the evaluation of examination documents.
Administration of the Special Talent Exam

ARTICLE 8–(1) The Special Talent Exam may be administered in a single or multi-stage manner, in accordance with the characteristics of the department or program, within the framework of the principles in the Examination Guide of the relevant unit.
(2) The university rectorate shall determine the number of special talent exams to be administered during an academic year and the exam dates.
