The Department of Digital Game Design (English), located within the Faculty of Fine Arts at Istanbul Aydın University, is one of Turkey’s most dynamic and innovative academic programs, merging art with technology and imagination with code. Aligned with the university’s vision of "Towards a Bright Future," this department aims to raise visionary designers and competent developers who will shape the rapidly growing global gaming industry. The medium of instruction being English not only allows our students to follow technical literature in real-time but also ensures they possess the linguistic proficiency required to work directly in international game studios and global projects.
Our curriculum is designed with the understanding that a game is not merely an entertainment tool, but a complex intersection of engineering and art. Throughout their education, students specialize in a wide range of subjects, including game engines, 3D modeling, character design, narrative design, and game economy. The high-tech laboratories and VR/AR development facilities provided by Istanbul Aydın University enable students to transform theoretical knowledge into tangible projects within a studio environment. In our interdisciplinary program, you will master the analytical world of software while learning to breathe life into your projects through the aesthetic values of fine arts.
Being a student of Digital Game Design requires staying current within an ever-evolving ecosystem and blending problem-solving skills with creativity. A game design student must be as logical as a programmer, as imaginative as a screenwriter, and as observant as a painter. While fostering this multi-faceted identity, our department also integrates students into an education model that is deeply intertwined with the industry. Our graduates embark on their careers as "experienced and creative leaders" in every field where digital transformation takes place—from the gaming industry and defense systems to educational technologies and advertising.
