Admission and Registration Processes


  1. How can I apply to the Faculty? Applications to our undergraduate programs are conducted in accordance with the academic calendar and regulations announced by the university. Admission to the Cartoon and AnimationDrama and ActingGraphic Design, and Textile and Fashion Design programs is based on a "Special Talent Examination." All other programs admit students based on the results of the National Central Placement Exam (ÖSYM).
  2. When are the Special Talent Examinations held? Special talent exams are typically administered annually in July, August, and September. Exact examination dates, application requirements, and procedures are officially announced on the university's main website and the respective department pages.
  3. Is a portfolio submission required for admission? A portfolio is not required for admission to our undergraduate (Bachelor's) programs. However, for graduate (Master's/PhD) applications, candidates may be requested to present a portfolio during the interview phase.


Education and Curriculum


  1. What is the medium of instruction and is the Preparatory School mandatory? The medium of instruction for all programs is Turkish, with the exception of the Digital Game Design (English) program. The English Preparatory School is not mandatory; however, students may choose to enroll in preparatory language education based on their proficiency levels and personal preferences.
  2. What is the weight of practical/applied courses in the curriculum? Our curriculum is built upon a project-based and studio-oriented model that integrates theoretical knowledge with practice. While the ratio of application varies by department, a significant portion of our course plans consists of hands-on workshop and studio sessions.
  3. Are internships mandatory? There is no conventional "mandatory internship" requirement in our programs. However, to fulfill graduation requirements, students must successfully complete the "On-Site Application" courses (YUM 301, YUM 302, and YUM 401) integrated into the curriculum.


Academic Facilities and Opportunities


  1. What are the guidelines for workshop and studio usage? Workshops and studios are utilized in accordance with the specific application principles of each course. Safety protocols and usage procedures are communicated to students at the beginning of each semester. Outside of scheduled class hours, students may utilize these facilities for individual projects, subject to the approval and scheduling of the respective Department Head.
  2. Are Double Major or Minor programs available? Our faculty offers both Double Major and Minor opportunities for students who meet the necessary academic merit criteria. For detailed information regarding quotas and eligibility, students should consult the Erasmus Institutional Coordinator located in J Block or their respective Departmental Coordinators.
  3. How can I apply for Erasmus and other exchange programs? Applications are processed according to the timeline announced by the International Academic Relations Office. Evaluations are conducted in line with the relevant institutional directives and available quotas.


Scholarships and Career Support


  1. What scholarship opportunities are available? Scholarship types, discount rates, and eligibility criteria are updated annually in the ÖSYM Manual and official university announcements. Prospective students are advised to monitor the "Scholarship Directive" and announcements during the preference period.
  2. Is there career support available after graduation? Students can receive guidance from the university's career center and academic advisors regarding career planning, networking, and industry connections. Our alumni network further strengthens professional integration through various events and communication channels.
