Which Aircrafts are in the True Course Flight Academy?

A single-engine Cessna 172; high wing, heavy and stabile. Due to its features we fly with the safest training aircrafts of the world. We have 8 aircrafts in our fleet, one of them is twin-engine Piper PA-44 Seminole.

What is PPL? Private Pilot License

A type of a pilot license that people who has not received any flight training must receive it first to fly. It enables people to be a pilot of single-engine or multiengine aircrafts without commercial purpose between sunrise and sunset. Necessary conditions to take a PPL are determined by ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization). The letter added in parentheses after the abbreviation PPL specifies the class of aircraft: PPL(A) > aircraft, PPL(H) > helicopter. In this course, candidates can use single-engine piston aircrafts except for the commercial purpose after getting their Private Pilot Licenses. This is the first stage for being an Airline Pilot.

Which Aircrafts can be flown with PPL?

You can fly an aircraft that you received training with its accepted type or you can fly different types of piston motor aircraft on condition that receiving the gap training.

What are the Necessary Conditions for PPL?

To be at least over the age of 18.

-Class 3 Health Insurance from hospitals authorized by the Directorate of Civil Aviation (SHGM)

-Notary Certified Diploma (Minimum High school graduation required.)

-Criminal Record Document

-A copy of Residence Permit

-A copy of Identity Card

-Blood Type Certificate (Driver's License is valid.)

-English Language Certificate at Upper Intermediate Level (from an institution authorized by Republic of Turkey Ministry of National Education (MEB))

What is the duration of PPL?

According to the student's success in theoretical and flight courses, ATPL training takes 3-4 months. PPL training consists of 120 hours theoretical and 45 hours flight trainings. Due to theoretical training of PPL cannot be carried out online in Turkey, student must be at the school during the theoretical courses. Theoretical courses are completed in 1 month. 35 hours of flights are made dual (with teacher), and 10 hours of flights are made alone. This is completed in 2 months. The night flight is a different authorization and if it is requested it is given within PPL training or after receiving the Personal Pilot License.

A pilot candidate is responsible for 9 theoretical courses in the PPL training. These courses are: Air Law, Aircraft General Information, Flight Performance, Human Performance and Limits, Meteorology, Navigation, Operating Procedures, Flight Principles, Communication and General Flight Safety. There are 4 sessions for PPL theoretical exams that are made by the Directorate of Civil Aviation (SHGM). At the end of the PPL training, a check flight is carried out by the Civil Aviation.

What is the Check Flight?

These are expected from candidate:

1.Ability to navigate the aircraft with the candidate's limits,

2.Ability to complete all maneuvers properly and fully,

3.As a good aviator, ability to make the right decision,

4.Ability to perform aviation knowledge

5. Ability to always maintain the control of aircraft without question that the consequence of a procedure or a maneuver will be successful.

What is an ATPL? Air Transportation Pilot License

Airline Pilot training is structured according to certain modules. At first, a required training is received for the Private Pilot License, and then theoretical courses that are required for the commercial pilot, instrument rating, multiengine class rating, and airline pilot are provided modular. With the ATPL(A) Frozen License that you will receive at the end of the training, you can find an business opportunity in airlines in countries that are members of JAA, including Turkey.

What are the Necessary Conditions for ATPL?

To be at least over the age of 18.

-Class 1 Health Insurance from hospitals authorized by the Directorate of Civil Aviation (SHGM)

-Notary Certified Diploma (Minimum associate and undergraduate degree required)

-Criminal Record Document

-A copy of Residence Permit

-A copy of Identity Card

-Blood Type Certificate (Driver's License is valid.)

-English Language Certificate at Advanced Level (from an institution authorized by Republic of Turkey Ministry of National Education (MEB))

How long does ATPL last?

ATPL training consists of 650 hours theoretical, and 170 (except PPL) hours flight training.

In order to get ATPL, it is necessary to successfully pass 14 theoretical courses and be successful in the exam conducted by SHGM. These courses are Air Law, Airframe/ Aircraft Systems/ Engine, Aircraft Instruments, Weight and Balance, Performance, Flight Planning and Monitoring, Human Performance and Limits, Meteorology, General Navigation, Instrument Navigation, Operation Procedures, Flight Principles, VFR and IFR Communications.

There is a total of 6 sessions for ATPL theory and 4 exams for each course. 14 course exams must be completed within 18 months after the first exam date.

What is Modular ATPL training? What its difference from Integrated ATPL?

First, the necessary training for the Private Pilot License is taken. Then, the theoretical trainings required for commercial pilot, instrument flight rating, multi-engine class rating and airline piloting are given in a modular manner. This is modular training. For example, in modular education, the PPL phase can be obtained from another school, and the night flight license can be obtained from another school. The integrated course starts from scratch and is the sum of the training until you get the ATPL Frozen license. As True Course Flight Academy, we provide modular training.

Are there any physical conditions required to become a pilot?

To find out if you can physically become a pilot, you should get examined in the hospitals authorized by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (SHGM). Except the I.Class Health Certificate given after this examination, no physical characteristics are sought in pilot candidates. You can check the authorized hospitals in your city from SHGM website.

What is PIC Flight? (Pilot-in command)

PIC Flights are solo flights within the ATPL training and that those who receive PPL Licence must fly. (89 hours)

What is SKYTEST?

SKYTEST is a psychometric test that measures all the skills used to perform the piloting profession such as attention measurement, spatial perception, visual capacity, mathematics, physics, information processing, situational awareness. As it is an online test, there is no need to take the exam in a center.

Test Flight

Test flight is the actual flight of students with a teacher on the aircraft before the course. With the knowledge of the teacher, the student touches the remote control and feels the flight in a real environment. This flight is a 30-minute training flight that allows to determine the student's airworthiness.

What is CPL & IR Authority? (Commercial Pilot Licence) and (Instrumental Rating)

IR/ Instrumental Rating is the authority that is given for flying in night conditions, and IFR (Instrumental Flight Rules) in low visibility weather, in SEP (Single Engine Piston) and ME (Multi Engine Piston) aircrafts with instrument. You take 2 IR trainings as IR SEP and IR ME.

How Many Semesters Does The Pilotage Department Consist Of?

It consists of 8 semesters after preparatory school. It is 4-year undergraduate program.

Which Term Will Flights Start in The Department of Pilotage?

PPL theoretical lessons start in the third semester of the second year, flights start in the fourth semester. However, a first-year test flight is predictable in order to introduce students.
