Purpose and Content

The aim of the course Gaining the ability to see three-dimensionally, to express what one sees in a plastic language and to visually express the ideas that are presented abstractly. Basic design elements: line, shape, form, color, texture, shadow; basic and complex geometries; topography; object/product geometry; human-object-environment relationship; isometric and artistic perspective; framing and imaging; part-whole expression in design and planning; basic graphic elements, composition, emphasis; collage; expression tools and usage techniques.
Course Content Various studies are carried out using the expression tools that make up the plastic language. 1. To express design ideas in two-dimensional plane. 2. Recognize advanced drawing and expression techniques. 3. To prepare effective presentation sheets and posters.

Weekly Course Subjects

1Meeting Students. Explaining the content of the course, introducing painting techniques
2Introducing the Painters, Homework: Preparing the Painter Concept sheet in which the lives and works of the painters are explained using the Collage technique.
3Introducing the concept of color, explaining the primary colors and intermediate colors and making applications.
4Making hand drawings using pencil drawing technique. Introducing sample picture books.
5Sketch work I Self portrait drawing
6Drawing a human figure with pencil, explaining anatomy and ergonomics and giving homework
7Pencil drawing of postures and sitting positions of different family members
8Introducing watercolor painting technique and materials, making watercolor painting work.
9Midterm Exam: Preparation of a Design Sheet on the Art Movement of the Selected Artist.
10Explaining Lavi's work and application using different colors of ink.
11Sketch Study II The students' reinterpretation of the paintings in different techniques from the painting exhibition of the lecturer.
12Mixed media drawing. Charcoal, watercolor or acrylic paint
13Portfolio submission. Submitting all assignments done during the spring term in a single file. Mutual comments and evaluations about assignments.
14Final Exam: Preparation of a composition with different materials, then painting the prepared composition with the desired material.
