Purpose and Content

The aim of the course To provide information about auditory comfort and visual comfort from physical comfort conditions.
Course Content Elements of building physics, architectural acoustics, noise control and acoustics, sound and noise, sound propagation and transmission, principles of noise control, building acoustics and room acoustics, sound in outdoor and indoor spaces, reverberation phenomenon and reverberation time, lighting, concept of light, quantity and quality of lighting, luminaires and lamps, lighting and architecture, natural lighting, color and color components, general information about color systems.

Weekly Course Subjects

1To have knowledge about Physical Environment and its elements, Physical Comfort Conditions / Environmental Standards and Regulations (Thermal Insulation Regulations, Fire Regulations, Noise Regulations, Lighting Standards).
2Architectural Acoustics (Building Acoustics, Volume Acoustics) Sound, Sound Components Related Understanding definitions and quantities.
3Noise and Noise Types, Learning Basic Principles in Noise Control.
4Obstacles and Application Examples in Noise Control / Noise Control and Detail Examples in Doors and Windows.
5Volume Acoustics Criteria / Acoustics in Speech and Music Learning the requirements.
6The Importance of Reflection Time in Volume Acoustics / Acoustic Defects and Precautions / To learn the Basic Principles of Vocalization.
7To have knowledge about Visual Comfort and Visual Perception Elements / Lighting-Architecture Relationship / Reflection, Absorption and Transmission of Light / Quantity in the Concept of Illuminance / Illuminance Level Measurements.
8Properties Related to Quality in the Concept of Illuminance (Light Color, Direction of Light, Shadow Properties, Distribution of Illuminance)/ Application; Average and Point To learn how to calculate the level of illumination.
