Amaç / Hedef

Amaç

There is an extensive need for mediating personel and translators who have knowledge of Russian in commercial and cultural relations with Russia, which  is one of the most important countries for Turkey so far as the tourism and agriculture sectors are concerned, and with which Turkey has developed very close commercial relations. In this regard, the main aim of the Applied Russian and Translation Programme  is to make available the qualified manpower - with knowledge of the Russian culture and language  - which will contribute to the increasing political, economic and cultural cooperation between Turkey and Russia and be employed in one of the ever-increasing areas of business.

Hedef

A graduate of the programme :  Takes responsibility as a team member  in the solution of problems which are encountered in practices related to Apllied Russian and Translation and which cannot be foreseen.  Carries out activities aimed at the development of those working under his/her  responsibility within the framework of a social, cultural or artistic Project.  Makes use of the basic theoretical and practical knowledge acquired in the Applied Russian and Translation programme in the same field in a further level of education or at the same level.  Has the linguistic, artistic and cultural knowledge base required of the basic qualified manpower needed. Channels his/her education towards a further level of education in the same area or a profession at the same level. Develops a lifelong learning  awareness  in the areas of culture, arts, and education. Using a foreign language at the European  Language Portfolio A2 General Level minimum, follows the developments in the area of humanities and communicates with colleagues. Makes use of information and communication technology and software at European Computer Literacy Licence Basic level at least, as much as is  required for the area of humanities. Areas of Employment: Russian Turkish Translation bureaus, state- owned and private TV channels, newpapers and magazines and book translations for publishing houses.
