Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The Statistics course aims to teach students key statistical terms and concepts used in business contexts. The course focuses on helping students organize, analyze, and interpret data, enabling them to effectively apply statistical information in business decision-making.
Course Content The course covers organizing data, measures of central tendency and dispersion (mean, median, mode, standard deviation), and basic concepts of probability. Additionally, students learn how to use statistical software like Excel and SPSS for analyzing data and supporting business decisions.

1Introduction to Statistics: What is statistics? Why is it important in business?
2Types of Data & Scales of Measurement: Qualitative vs. quantitative data, nominal, ordinal, etc.
3Organizing Data: Frequency tables, grouping, class intervals (Lab: Excel basic structure)
4Charts & Graphs: Bar charts, pie charts, histograms, line graphs (Lab: Creating visuals in Excel)
5Measures of Central Tendency: Mean, median, mode – concepts and calculations (Lab: Descriptive statistics in Excel)
