Purpose and Content

The aim of the course To help students comprehend the role of creativity in human and social life, the relationship between creativity and intelligence, and the development of creativity in children; to support prospective teachers in discovering their own creativity; to enable them to understand the development of aesthetic perception and graphic activities in children; to introduce materials used in art activities; and to equip them with the ability to design art activities and creative materials appropriate for educational purposes.
Course Content Definition and characteristics of creativity, theories related to creativity, development of creativity, factors affecting the development of creativity, the role of education in fostering creativity during early childhood, discovery of prospective teachers’ own creativity, development of aesthetic perception in children, development of graphic activities in children, stages and characteristics of children’s drawings, parental and educator approaches to children’s drawings, evaluation of children’s drawings, materials used in art activities, development of creative materials, purposes of art activities, and planning, implementation, and evaluation of art activities appropriate for educational purposes
