Double-Major and Minor Programs

​What is Double-Major (ÇAP) ?
It is a program that allows students who successfully carry out their undergraduate programs to receive a diploma by simultaneously taking courses in a second undergraduate program that they are interested in.

When to apply for a Double-Major Program ?
The student can apply to the second major diploma program if he/she fulfills the necessary conditions at the beginning of the 3rd semester at the earliest and at the beginning of the 5th semester at the latest in the 4-year major undergraduate diploma program.

The student who will apply for a double major must have successfully completed all the courses he took in the major until the semester he applied for, and the student's overall grade point average in the major diploma program must be at least 3.00 in the quadruple system at the time of application and must be in the top 20% in terms of success in the relevant class of the major diploma program. (Students who are not in the top 20% of the major diploma program in terms of success in the relevant class, but whose overall grade point average is 3.00 and above, and those who have the same type of score, not less than the base score of the program to which the double major will be made in the relevant year, can also apply to the double major program.)

What is a Minor-Program?
It is a program that enables students who successfully carry out their undergraduate programs to receive a certificate by taking simultaneous courses in a second undergraduate program that they are interested in.

When to apply for a Minor-Program?
A student can apply to a minor program at the beginning of the 3rd semester at the earliest and at the beginning of the 6th semester at the latest in the 4-year major undergraduate diploma program if he/she meets the necessary conditions.

The student who will apply to the minor program must have successfully completed all the courses taken in the undergraduate program until the application period and the student's GPA in the major program must be at least 2.50 at the time of application.


What are the Application, Admission and Attendance Requirements for the Double Major/Minor Program?
Double Major / Minor programs are carried out within the framework of the provisions of "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer" and "Istanbul Aydın University Double Major Program and Minor Program Directive".

Sociology Department Major and Minor Agreements:
The decision that our Sociology Department will accept applications from 5 majors and minor from 13 majors has been approved by our university's senate.
    Departments that can apply to the Department of Psychology:
    Psychology, History, Turkish Language and Literature, English Language and Literature, Social Work.

     Departments that can apply for a minor to the Department of Psychology:
         Psychology, History, Turkish Language and Literature, English Language and Literature, Social Work, Public Relations and Promotion, Advertising, 
Journalism, Radio, Television and Cinema, Visual communication design,  New Media and Communication, Television Reporting and Programming
