Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	To learn about the physical structure and functional characteristics of the operating room; the basic and advanced technological devices, equipment, and systems used therein; digital health technologies; and the application areas of artificial intelligence-supported systems; and to acquire the fundamental knowledge and skills regarding the safe, effective, and appropriate use of these technologies.
Course Content	Operating room physical structure, design, technological infrastructure and superstructure, functional classification, operating room ventilation and climate control principles, operating tables and accessories, operating room lighting and lamps, basic instruments and devices used in surgery, advanced technological devices and their classification by specialty, surgical instruments and consumables, medical gas systems and calibration, monitoring systems, operating room microscopes, robotic surgery systems and instruments, digital operating room systems, surgical navigation and imaging technologies, digital tracking and maintenance systems for devices, application areas of AI and data-driven technologies in operating room processes, and patient safety, data security, cybersecurity, and ethical principles regarding technological devices.

The aim of the course

Course Content

Explains and applies the issues of preparing the operating room environment before, between and after surgical procedures.
Explains and applies information on sterilization and disinfection techniques.
