Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	The aim of this course is to equip students with fundamental knowledge and skills in occupational health and safety (OHS) and contribute to the creation of safe workplaces. It also aims to equip them with the skills to follow and interpret occupational health and safety legislation.
Course Content	This course covers the fundamental concepts, legal regulations, and principles of safe working in the workplace related to occupational health and safety (OHS). The course covers the implementation of occupational health and safety services, the duties and responsibilities of occupational safety specialists, the content of Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331, and physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, and psychosocial risk factors. Additionally, by covering topics such as the prevention of occupational diseases and accidents, emergency management, risk assessment processes, personal protective equipment, and warning signs, students are encouraged to establish a safety culture in the workplace.

Course Content

Gains competence in patient admission, follow-up and registration processes.
Gains competence in problem solving and process management in line with ethical principles and professional values by using the knowledge he/she has about his/her field.
Updating all processes related to his/her profession with the awareness of lifelong learning and gaining competence in developing it by making use of information technologies.
Gains competence in developing lifelong learning awareness for his own personal development.
Gains competence in communicating effectively and using communication methods during team members, patient-patient relatives, colleagues and social communication.
Gains competence in carrying out and improving patient admission, follow-up and registration processes by using communication methods and technology effectively.
Gains knowledge about medical language, technical equipment, surgical instruments and materials in the field and skills while applying this information.
