"We Are Letter Writers of the City"
The
roots of İAHA are grounded in a journalistic approach that preserves
the tradition of “urban letter writing.” The agency’s correspondents
have aimed to convey to readers the details that touch upon the everyday
life of Istanbul, establishing an intimate and genuine narrative. This
approach was shaped in its early years under the leadership of Lecturer
Kayihan Güven; the Agency rendered visible the texts produced together
with students through magazine and book projects. Following the passing
of Kayihan Güven, İAHA suspended its activities and resumed operations
in 2025 with a format suited to the requirements of the digital era.
