Purpose and Content

The aim of the course	To provide them with the necessary knowledge and skills to understand the basic concepts of power electronics, semiconductor switching elements and the operating principles of basic converter circuits.
Course Content	Basic concepts of power electronics, Semiconductor circuit elements, Rectifier circuits, Chopper circuits; AC and DC choppers, Inverter circuits

Learning Outcomes

Has basic, current and practical knowledge about his/her profession,
Have knowledge about occupational health and safety, environmental awareness and quality processes.
Explains the fundamentals of electronic circuits, performs mathematical calculations and necessary measurements.
Define and apply digital and analog electronic techniques.
Designs microcontroller systems and develops programs and applications.
Troubleshoots and fixes malfunctions that may occur in electronic devices.
Follows current developments and practices for his/her profession and uses them effectively.
Uses professional-related information technologies (software, programs, animations, etc.) effectively.
Has the ability to independently evaluate professional problems and issues with an analytical and critical approach and to propose solutions.
Can effectively present thoughts through written and oral communication at the level of knowledge and skills and express them in an understandable manner.
Takes responsibility as a team member to solve unforeseen and complex problems encountered in applications related to his/her field.

7	Rectifier circuits; single phase half, full, controlled and uncontrolled circuit designs and sample applications

9	Midterm Exam
