Purpose and Content

The aim of the course To provide knowledge and skills about JFET and MOSFET biasing, small signal analysis, single and multi-stage amplifiers, CMOS, ROM and RAM circuits, Operational Amplifiers (OpAmps), Power amplifiers, Oscillators, Voltage regulators.
Course Content JFET and MOSFET biasing, small signal analysis, single and multistage amplifiers, CMOS gates, ROM and RAM circuits, operational amplifiers (opamps), power amplifiers, oscillators, voltage regulators.

Weekly Course Subjects

1FET transistors, differences from BJT, JFET operation principle.
2JFET biasing circuits, graphical and classical analysis.
3Small signal equivalent of JFET, voltage amplifiers with JFET
4MOSFET types, differences/advantages, operation principle, biasing circuits: Graphical and classical analysis
5Small signal equivalent of MOSFET, voltage amplifiers with MOSFET.
6Applications of MOSFET as a switch: Logic gates, CMOS.
7ROM and RAM design with MOSFET.
8Recitation for the midterm exam
9Midterm Exam
10Operational amplifiers (OpAmps) and their basic applications.
11Power amplifiers: operating classes and efficiencies.
12Oscillators and signal generators.
13Voltage regulators.
14Recitation for the final exam
