Purpose and Content

The aim of the course The objective of the course is to teach basic concept of parasitology, evolution of parasites, parasite types and hosts, parasitic diseases and treatment methods, diagnosis, treatment and prevention from verious types of parasites such as Protozoon, Helmint and Arthropod.
Course Content -

Weekly Course Subjects

1Parasite-host and definitions related to parasitic. Laboratory: Macroscopic analysis of guaiac.
2Helmintler and general properties. Laboratory: Preparation of blood smear
3Helmintler and general properties. With direct examination method preparation of culture from urine and other body fluids.
4Helmintler Laboratory: Preparation of stained slides form sputum and cerebral spinal fluid and other body fluids.
5Cestods and laboratory diagnosis. Laboratory: Preparation of stained slides form sputum and cerebral spinal fluid and other body fluids.
6Nematodes and laboratory diagnosis. Laboratory Practice Exam
7Trematodes and laboratory diagnosis. Laboratory Practice Exam
8Protozoa and general characteristics. Laboratory:With direct examination method preparation of guaiac smear.
9Flagellate protozoans and laboratory diagnosis. Laboratory: By precipitation method preparation of guaiac smear
10Amoeba and laboratory diagnosis. Laboratory: With floatation method preparation of guaiac smear.
11Sporozoons and laboratory diagnosis. Laboratory: Staining of guaiac smear.
12Toxoplasma gondii, Isospora and laboratory diagnosis. Laboratory: With thick drop method preparation of blood smear.
