Dean's Message

The quality of education systems depends on the skills and competencies of teachers, who are the fundamental executors of the education system. Therefore, higher education institutions that train teachers have important responsibilities. As the Faculty of Education at Istanbul Aydın University, our goal is to train teachers who are critical and creative thinkers, self-confident, sensitive to ethical and human values, tolerant, dedicated, equipped with field and professional knowledge, committed to human, national, and universal values, with a strong pedagogical foundation, who have internalized the fundamental principles of the Republic, and equipped with contemporary knowledge and technologies.

The Faculty of Education at Istanbul Aydın University began teaching in the 2008-2009 academic year with classrooms and programs equipped to meet the needs of the age. Our faculty offers programs in Guidance and Psychological Counseling, Computer and Instructional Technologies Education, English Language Teacher Education, Arabic Language Teaching, Music Education, Special Education, Primary Mathematics Education, Turkish Language Teacher Education, Elementary Education, and Preschool Teacher Education. This multidisciplinary structure offers its students a comprehensive education, supported by qualified academic knowledge in their fields, pedagogical training, educational technologies, creative thinking, scientific research skills, and awareness of social responsibility.

Our faculty supports our students in gaining versatile skills through its dual major program, offering a second degree; its minor program, offering certificate opportunities; its social report card system; and its rich selection of elective courses. Through Erasmus+ and other international exchange programs, our students have the opportunity to experience universities' education systems firsthand and benefit from global-scale educational opportunities.

Seven of our faculty's programs are accredited and have earned the TYÇ logo. In this context, it steadfastly pursues its mission of being an institution committed to quality in education. In addition, student clubs enable our students to participate in scientific, cultural, artistic, and sporting activities, providing opportunities for experience-based learning in these social environments. Thus, students gain a multidimensional learning experience that strengthens their professional development and life skills.
