Double major/minor

In our faculty, equivalencies are made in accordance with the conditions stipulated in the Regulation on the Principles of Transfer Between Associate and Bachelor's Degree Programs, Double Major, Minor, and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer in Higher Education Institutions, published in the Official Gazette dated April 24, 2010, and numbered 27561. Within this scope, the 'YÖK REGULATION ON TRANSFER BETWEEN ASSOCIATE AND BACHELOR'S DEGREE PROGRAMS CENTRAL POINT HORIZONTAL TRANSFER PROCEDURES AND PRINCIPLES' are taken as a basis. The relevant regulation and application processes are shared on the institution's website. During the 2023-2024 academic year, there were no minor or double major (ÇAP) applications from other departments to our department. However, thanks to the interdisciplinary structure of our department and the career opportunities it offers to students, it is anticipated that such applications will increase in the future. Indeed, as of the 2024-2025 academic year, 3 double major applications from different departments have been accepted. Faculty students have the opportunity to gain a second academic qualification in other undergraduate programs of interest within the scope of the Double Major Program (DMP) offered by Istanbul Aydın University. Our students are offered the opportunity to pursue a double major in all undergraduate programs of our university, excluding the programs of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, and Faculty of Pharmacy. Students, especially those ranking below 300,000 in the quantitative score category, have the right to pursue a double major with various departments, primarily the Faculty of Engineering. It is believed that this will enable our students to build a strong academic foundation integrating technical, information technology, and management fields.

Regulations regarding minor programs exist within our university. In this context, we operate in accordance with the "Principles of Implementation for Minor Programs" determined by the Istanbul Aydın University Senate. The relevant regulations and application processes are published on the institution's website, and applications are evaluated by the Department Board. The decisions are submitted to the Dean's Office within the framework of the Academic Calendar. Minor programs are implemented in accordance with the guidelines put into effect following the updated Senate decision dated 2025-01. Through this program, students have the opportunity to gain academic knowledge in a second field of interest in addition to their undergraduate program.
