Avionics (English)

The aim of the Aviation Electrical and Electronics Department is to provide training in the maintenance and repair of all types of electrical and electronic equipment used in aviation, primarily aircraft. Students are admitted to this department based on their SAY (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) score.

Our Department's Main Objective

Our department's main objective is to train qualified maintenance technicians who will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and management of electrical and electronic systems that play a critical role in the flight safety of aircraft. These technicians will be equipped with nationally and internationally valid certifications such as SHY-66 and EASA Part-66, and possess practical knowledge and technical competence. Our students graduate as experts who can effectively utilize current aviation technologies and easily integrate into continuously evolving aircraft systems.

What is Avionics?

Aviation Electrical and Electronics is a multidisciplinary field encompassing the maintenance and management of all electrical and electronic subsystems of aircraft (energy generation and distribution, lighting systems, navigation, communication, avionics, sensors, and control systems). Technicians working in this field are responsible for ensuring the continuous operation of systems to guarantee flight safety.

Electrical and electronics specialists are responsible for identifying, resolving, and certifying even the smallest malfunctions in aircraft systems in accordance with international certification requirements. Therefore, training should be supported not only by theory but also by practical work and a licensing preparation process.

Why Avionics?

The aviation sector is growing every day, and the aircraft fleet is constantly expanding. This increases the demand for qualified maintenance technicians.
SHY-66 and EASA Part-66 licenses offer opportunities to work internationally.
In Türkiye, there are job opportunities in many institutions, primarily Turkish Airlines, Pegasus, SunExpress, TUSAŞ, MyTechnic, and the Air Force.
Aircraft maintenance technician work stands out as a high-paying and respected profession.
Our graduates can work not only as technicians but also as maintenance engineers, quality managers, or trainers in the sector in their later careers.
