Mission of the Unit
As Istanbul Aydın University Distance Education Application and Research Center (UZEP), our primary mission is to provide qualified and sustainable education services through information and communication technologies by eliminating time and space boundaries.
Our center applies a distance education model that is based on the principle of equal opportunity in education, closely follows changing technology, meets global standards, and is enriched with dynamic and multiple learning activities. Our field of duty is not only to provide technical infrastructure but also to create a highly interactive, accessible, and reliable teaching environment for raising individuals who question, research, and produce knowledge.
 
Key Responsibilities
Our center undertakes the following key responsibilities within the framework of the Istanbul Aydın University Distance Education Directive and quality standards: Instructional Design and Content Development: Ensuring that course contents (syllabuses), e-contents, videos, and interactive materials are designed and kept up-to-date by experts.
Platform Management: Ensuring the uninterrupted, secure, and efficient operation of the Learning Management System (LMS) and virtual classroom infrastructure.
Student and Instructor Support: Establishing academic, technical, and social support mechanisms to ensure users' adaptation to the system and to eliminate the "sense of isolation."
Interaction Management: Applying methods to maximize interaction (synchronous and asynchronous) between student-student, student-content, and student-instructor.
Measurement and Evaluation: Coordinating the realization of online exams and applications in a secure environment in accordance with relevant legislation.
 
Organizational Structure
Istanbul Aydın University Distance Education Application and Research Center is a unit operating under the University Rectorate that carries out academic and technical processes together.
Our center works in line with the policies determined by the University Senate. Our organizational structure has a hierarchical and collaborative order where technical infrastructure management, instructional design, and content development processes are carried out by specialized personnel, working in coordination with the relevant Faculties, Vocational Schools, and Institutes.
