Services

Istanbul Aydın University Distance Education Application and Research Center (UZEP) produces academic and technical solutions to ensure the sustainability of our university's educational processes in the digital environment.

Our center provides end-to-end services in digitalizing course content, managing virtual classroom environments, and transferring assessment and evaluation processes to online platforms, with an approach that integrates educational technologies with pedagogical principles. Our goal is not only to provide a technical infrastructure but also to create a "learner-centered" digital campus experience.

 

Service Scope

The core services provided by our center are gathered under five main headings:

  1. Learning Management System (LMS) Management:

    • Defining student and instructor user accounts.

    • Opening courses on a semester basis and managing authorizations.

    • System security, backup, and performance optimization studies.

  2. Live Course (Virtual Classroom) Infrastructure:

    • Scheduling virtual classroom sessions for synchronous lessons.

    • Archiving course recordings and making them available to students.

  3. Online Exam and Assessment:

    • Exam security (SEB - Safe Exam Browser etc.) configurations.

    • Question bank creation and exam design support (oesinav.aydin).

  4. Instructor Training and Technical Support:

    • System usage webinars aimed at academic staff.

    • Technical help desk services for students and instructors.

 

Stakeholder Groups Eligible for Services

The following groups within our university can benefit from UZEP services:

  • Students: All students at Associate, Undergraduate, Graduate, and Doctorate levels.

  • Academic Staff: All faculty members, lecturers, and research assistants who provide instruction.

  • Administrative Units: Administrative departments wishing to conduct in-service training via digital platforms.

  • Continuing Education Center (SEM): Units wishing to offer certificate programs through distance education.

 

Application and Request Methods

Our application and request channels according to the service type are as follows:

  • Technical Support Requests:

    • For password issues, course access problems, and system errors, you can submit your request via the form by clicking the UBIS --> Online Courses --> Help Desk button.

    • In urgent cases, you can reach our center at 444 1 428 .

  • New Course Creation Requests:

    • Requests for defining a new course in the distance education system must be submitted to the planning unit via official correspondence through the relevant Faculty Deanery / School Directorate in accordance with the academic calendar.

 

  • Studio Recording and Content Development:

    • An appointment must be made at least 1 week in advance for course video recordings and studio usage. You can contact our instructional design unit for appointment requests.

 

  • Exam Setup Support:

    • It is of great importance to create a request at least 3 business days before the exam date for exam design support during midterm and final periods.
